Abstract

Health institutions must provide employees with the possibility of personal and career development, reward for a job well done and promote good interpersonal relationships. Employee’s satisfaction is a prerequisite for their affiliation. The fact is that the more a nursing care provider contributes to the development of the organisation, the greater will be their affiliation. The purpose of this article is to show the impact of demographic factors on the affiliation of nursing employees to the hospital. We used the quantitative research method, the descriptive method and the technique of the survey. We carried out non-random, convenience sampling. The survey was held in Murska Sobota General Hospital among nursing care providers. The affiliation factor the surveyed rated the highest was – »I am always willing to help co-workers« (AV = 4.63), and the least important affiliation factor was belief in the successful development of the Hospital (AV = 3.14). Senior employees and those with a higher education are more affiliated. The latter are least likely to leave the hospital and their post, even if they were offered better career opportunities elsewhere.
