Involvement of the Elderly in Education and Training at the Intergenerational Centre
Keywords:

The aging of the population has brought many changes, with them the intention to involve the elderly in various informal trainings because we want to improve their quality of life. We study the condition in the Intergenerational Centre Posavje and its unit Brežice. The study was based on the qualitative approach and content analysis. 42 people who are regularly involved in the activities of the intergenerational centre and 12 employees participated in the study. The data was collected in the second half of 2019. We asked respondents four questions about IGC's strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats. They provided their responses in written form. The data was classified into four categories (strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, threats). SWOT analysis was used as a strategic tool for developing strategies. The strategies emphasized the importance of IGC for older people and their intergenerational collaboration and also highlighted the opportunities for improving activities.
