Življenjske vloge po poškodbi hrbtenjače – kvalitativna fenomenološka raziskava

Poškodba hrbtenjače je poškodba živčnih celic, ki skrbijo za prenos signalov med možgani in preostalim telesom, kar lahko povzroči trajne okvare telesnih funkcij pod mestom okvare in ima velik vpliv na vsakodnevno življenje osebe. V proces soočanja z nepričakovanimi spremembami so vključeni tudi delovni terapevti. Namen raziskave je bil raziskati, kako osebe po poškodbi hrbtenjače doživljajo spremembe življenjskih vlog. Kvalitativna raziskava je bila izvedena na vzorcu 6 oseb s paraplegijo z metodo poglobljenih intervjujev. Iz kvalitativne tematske analize so izšle štiri glavne teme in devet podtem. Izkazalo se je, da je sodelovanje v vlogah za osebe po poškodbi hrbtenjače velikega pomena, saj želijo ostati enakovredni člani družbe. Sprejemanje sprememb je proces, ki poteka dlje časa, v tem procesu je pomembna podpora socialnega okolja, najpogostejša ovira pa nedostopno grajeno okolje. Različne prilagoditve fizičnega in okupacijskega okolja osebam po poškodbi hrbtenjače omogočajo ohraniti vloge in identiteto, izpolniti cilje ter živeti zadovoljujoče življenje. Vpogled v življenjske vloge uporabnika lahko delovnemu terapevtu pomaga pri razumevanju in načrtovanju nanj usmerjene terapije, ki ga bo opolnomočila in mu olajšala vrnitev v domače okolje.
