Abstract

Behaviours acquired in adolescence affect health and the quality of life in adulthood. The promotion of a healthy lifestyle also emphasises the healthy diet and stress management. The purpose of this study was to determine the behaviour of adolescents regarding eating habits and stress management. The sample for statistical analysis included 446 secondary school students of both genders. Their average age was 17.2 years. In our study, we used a standardised questionnaire Adolescence Lifestyle Profile (ALP), which we translated into Slovene language. The findings of our study showed that young people are still not aware of the importance of eating healthy. We also noticed deficiency in the field of stress management in young people. Occupational therapists can fill diverse roles in those fields and can help to improve people‘s life quality through the promotion of a healthy lifestyle.
