Strategije razvoja delovne terapije v skupnosti za potrebe starejših ljudi

Kljub temu da si večina starejših ljudi želi čim dlje ostati v svojem domačem okolju, v Sloveniji še vedno primanjkuje ustreznih storitev, ki bi to omogočile. Z raziskavo smo želeli proučiti stanje na področju dela delovnih terapevtov v skupnosti ter poiskati strategije, ki bi lahko izboljšale položaj in dostopnost delovne terapije na področju skrbi za starejše v domačem okolju. Raziskava je temeljila na kvalitativnem raziskovalnem pristopu – študiji primera. V raziskavi so sodelovale štiri delovne terapevtke, dve iz Slovenije in dve iz tujine. Podatke smo zbrali z delno strukturiranim intervjujem in jih razvrstili v štiri kategorije: prednosti, slabosti, izzivi in nevarnosti. Nato smo uporabili SPIN analizo kot strateško orodje za oblikovanje strategij. Oblikovane strategije so izpostavile pomen dodatnih izobraževanj s področja preprečevanja padcev, prilagoditev domačega okolja in dela z osebami z demenco ter potrebo po promociji stroke in znanstveno-raziskovalnem delu. Delovna terapija kot zdravstvena stroka lahko pomembno prispeva k uspešnemu in varnemu staranju v domačem okolju.
