Opolnomočenje zdravstvenih delavcev za ravnanje z odpadki iz zdravstva

V zdravstveni dejavnosti se v 15 % pojavljajo odpadki, ki so lahko kužni, toksični oziroma drugače nevarni. Zaradi neustreznega ravnanja z njimi, od nastanka do končne odstranitve, so ogroženi tako pacienti in zaposleni, kot tudi širše okolje. Z namenom, da bi ugotovili morebitne primere dobrih izkušenj pri ravnanju z odpadki iz zdravstvene dejavnosti v drugih državah in se zavedli pomena znanja vseh, ki so vključeni v ta proces, smo pregledali znanstveno literaturo, objavljeno v obdobju 2013 do 2017. Uporabili smo elektronske baze podatkov CINAHL, ScienceDirect in Google Scholar. Z uporabo različnih kombinacij ključnih besed in vnaprej določenih vključitvenih kriterijev smo pridobili 20 člankov, ki smo jih vsebinsko analizirali. Ugotovili smo, da so raziskave v evropskih državah redke, poudarjajo pa predvsem pomen trajnostnega razvoja in okoljske odgovornosti, medtem ko so v drugih državah usmerjene predvsem v preučevanje tehnološkega ravnanja z odpadki. Le v sedmih člankih je bilo preučevano izobraževanje na temo ravnanja z odpadki. To ne pomeni, da morajo to znanje obvladati samo zdravstveni delavci, ampak ga potrebujejo vsi, ki so kakor koli v to vključeni, zato bo v prihodnosti vedno bolj pomembno.
