Researching and Directing the Hidden Curriculum in Health Education Work
Keywords:
hidden curriculum, health education work, researchAbstract
The article presents some conceptual and methodological characteristics of researching and directing the hidden curriculum in the field of health education work. Researching and directing the hidden curriculum is an ongoing process in which we determine its positive and negative sides. This process is being continuously improved and directed on the basis of new findings. In the empirical part of the study, designed as a case study, we present the results of a review of the existing research, analysed according to the principles of meta-synthesis. Based on the research findings, we develop guidelines for researching and directing the hidden curriculum, which are grounded on action and evaluation research, as well as research according to the method of the deconstruction and redefinition of personal thinking and beliefs that guide the individual’s professional activity. We assume that these guidelines can contribute to raising the quality of the health education work of employees in healthcare institutions.
