Povzetek

Samooskrba (self-care) je sposobnost osebe, da sama skrbi za svoje zdravje in bolezen. S to raziskavo smo želeli ugotoviti, kakšna je samooskrba oseb s sladkorno boleznijo tipa 1 in tipa 2 na Hrvaškem pred individualizirano edukacijo in po njej. Za zbiranje podatkov smo uporabili standardiziran vprašalnik Pregled dejavnosti samooskrbe pri sladkorni bolezni (Summary of Diabetes Self-Care Activities, SDSCA), ki smo ga dopolnili z demografskimi podatki in podatki iz bolnišničnega informacijskega sistema. V raziskavi je sodelovalo 396 bolnikov, ki so hospitalizirani na Kliniki Vuk Vrhovac. Tridnevna individualizirana edukacija je bila zasnovana kot tematsko strukturirana edukacija. Po edukaciji je statistično ugotovljeno znatno izboljšanje pri vseh dejavnostih samooskrbe. V nekaterih dimenzijah samooskrbe obstajajo razlike med moškimi in ženskami. Edukacija znatno izboljšuje oceno zdrave prehrane v skupini pacientov z vrednostmi HbA1c >7,5. S temi ugotovitvami raziskave smo dokazali, da individualizirana edukacija pomaga pri samostojnosti pri samooskrbi, ko je prilagojena osebnim potrebam pacientov.
