According to the authors of this paper, in addition to the fields of education and training, public health in Slovenia is one of the most important activities in the life of each individual and, at the same time, important for the functioning of society as a whole. In the context of health care in Slovenia, we have organised health services in hospitals, health institutions and health centers. Public health services are provided within the context of the rights guaranteed by the compulsory health insurance at the primary, secondary and tertiary levels. The authors of this paper concentrated on the implementation of primary health activities that, at this level, are the most appropriate for the needs of the population at the local level. On the basis of the analysis of the financial indicators of municipalities in Slovenia, they show the share of the resources that the local community pays for the provision of primary health care activities, and note that the share of funding for health activity per citizen depends on the legal formal requirements and the size and wealth of the individual municipality.
