Missed nursing care is a concept that includes the conscious or unconscious complete abandonment of the performance of certain nursing activities, postponement of the performance, or only partial performance of a certain activity. With the research, we wanted to find the most common nursing activities that nurses and nursing technicians in health and social care institutions missed, and the most common reasons for this. The cross-sectional research was based on a quantitative research approach. We used “The MISSCARE Survey” questionnaire to collect data, which we collected with 1KA, the online research tool. The research was fully completed by 180 nursing care providers who have more than 10 years of work experience. We found that nurses most often missed documenting all the required data (M = 1.86, SD = 1.21); the same applies to nursing technicians (M = 1.69, SD = 1.29). The participants in the research cited an inadequate number of personnel (M = 1.59, SD = 0.96) as the most important reason for missed nursing care. Such nursing care can negatively affect the patient‘s health outcomes and cause adverse events and complications.
